What Is RSS?

RSS, Really Simple Syndication, or Rich Site Summary, is used for web sites, blogs and journals that are frequently updated. When the content is updated it automatically appears in a feed reader. This is a really great way to read your favorite web content daily. RSS will be handy for you if you have web sites you like to read every day or at least frequently.

No More Bookmarks

RSS saves all the time and trouble people use to go to making bookmarks and visiting those websites to check for new content. With RSS, if there is new content it will simply appear in your feed reader. RSS is really ideally suited for news blogs and sites that updated daily.

Feed Readers

The feed reader is the application used to read the feed or updated content from your favorite web site or blog. This is a great time saver as you can read several blogs daily in just a little bit of time. For me the morning news in my feed reader has replaced the morning newspaper at breakfast. A laptop is much easier to read and takes up far less room at the table than the morning paper.

Getting Started With RSS

Google Feed Reader

There are many feed readers but I think Google is the simplest and its free. Just click on RSS symbol and choose your reader. If you choose Google there are two choices, your Google Homepage or The Google Reader. You just go to your reader every day and the newest content will be there. Some readers put just the teaser (a few lines) and you have to go the web site to read the rest and some may put the entire story in the reader.

If You Keep A Blog

If you keep a blog or update your website frequently I can create a blog or website for you to syndicate your content automatically when you add it. Contact me Free Blog with your hosting account
